Arrow Machine And Fabrication Group’s Newest Acquisition Expands Its Global Manufacturing Footprint

October 4, 2024

GUELPH, CANADA, October 3, 2024 – Arrow Machine and Fabrication Group (AMFG) of Guelph, Ontario, has acquired its sixth metalworking solution provider since the company’s launch in 2021. This latest acquisition will further expand Arrow’s capacity to provide customers with machining and fabrication solutions on an unprecedented scale.

The acquired company, Lumar Machining & Manufacturing Ltd, has over 30 years of experience providing technology driven, high precision CNC machining, precision grinding, manual turning and milling, and inspection solutions to the defence, mining, industrial and nuclear sectors. The company operates out of its 25,000-square-foot facility located in St. Thomas, Ontario.

“The Lumar team has an excellent reputation for product quality, service and delivery,” says Arrow President and CEO Mike Ritchie. “Adding their people, equipment, capabilities, and production space to Arrow supports our mandate of creating unparalleled supply chain resiliency and providing a complete range of metalworking solutions to our global OEM customers for their applications.”

Unlike previous acquisitions, Lumar will operate as a standalone entity, utilizing its broad scope of metalworking capabilities to support the growth mandates of Arrow’s three divisions: Arrow Off-Road, Arrow Engineered Products, and Arrow Automotive.

Lumar President Ian Wagter and General Manager Peter Bowers will continue to head up the acquired firm, reporting directly to Mr. Ritchie. Both Mr. Wagter and Mr. Bowers bring over 30 years each of precision machining experience to Arrow, and have dedicated their focus to rapid corporate expansion through adopting precision machining technology that optimizes the design, development, and delivery of customer initiatives.

“Joining the Arrow team is a definite win for our company,” says Mr. Wagter. “Being part of a global metalworking network will help drive organic growth for our customers and open us up to new opportunities that will foster a sustainable future for our stakeholders. Lumar’s entire team is excited about the possibilities of where this new direction will take us.”
